Grails deserve better.
How a broken slab and a coffee table became a CNC aluminum obsession.
PowerGuard started with a broken slab. A grail card, a cheap acrylic case, a coffee table — one drop and a five-figure card had a chipped edge and a hairline crack on the label.
The graded card case market was full of injection-molded plastic and paper-thin magnetic sheets. Nothing built for the way collectors actually live with their cards: photographed, stacked, displayed, moved between shows.
So we built the case we wanted. CNC-machined from 6061 aluminum. A suspension rail so the slab never touches the frame. Magnetic closure. UV-blocking acrylic. Anodized in a dozen finishes.
Today PowerGuard is trusted by 729+ collectors — from hobbyists protecting a single PSA 10, to shops locking in inventory, to investors building museum-grade vaults. Every case is still made to order in small batches.
We're a small team of collectors and machinists. If you have a question, our founder reads every email.
